- project LAMBETH PALACE LIBRARY - project type SPATIAL - design type VISUAL
Housing the most important collection of religious artefacts outside the Vatican, the design and construction of Lambeth Palace Library was a major project for the Church of England, consolidating the church’s archives in a new, purpose-designed building in the garden of Lambeth Palace. Picture Plane were approached by Wright and Wright Architects to consult on the visualisation of the new design.
I led a series of design development & planning images for the project, working in close collaboration with the architects. A complex project involving significant independent work as well as managing a team of three junior artists, we developed a proprietary procedural brick texturing system that could allowed us to meticulously art direct the colour and stock of brick, providing a fundamental design tool for Wright & Wright as well as communicating the design intent to the client and construction partners.
