A prestigious crematorium of polished black concrete, white brick, and oxidised steel is proposed for the heart of Graceland Cemetery in Chicago. Oil is drained from a thermal exchange in the crematorium into lightwells in the chapels throughout the ceremony, physiologically controlling the congregation’s optical experience and comfort.
